COMING SOON! NKY Bourbon Barrel Walk by Katrina Rattermann

NKY Bourbon Barrel Walk

The second annual NKY Bourbon Barrel Walk will take place from July 22-31, 2022. Organized by the NKY Chamber of Commerce and the NKY Catalytic Fund, this event is FREE and open to the public. To schedule a guided tour, please visit NKY Art Tours.

Background

Northern Kentucky is recognized as the Gateway to Bourbon Country. In 2019, to celebrate Kentucky’s Edge Bourbon Festival, NKY businesses sponsored local artists to custom paint over 100 bourbon barrels that were displayed across the region. The public was invited to take a walk, as the barrels lead to interesting and exciting locations around the entertainment and business districts of the river cities.

Personal Contribution

I was selected by Huntington Bank to custom paint a barrel. It will be on display outside of their Covington Branch location. If you are in the area, check it out!

I will be pitching a 5-minute presentation for an immersive installation of a digital glitch that we hope to exhibit in a gallery space at Western Michigan University, Grand Rapids during ArtPrize 9. The image above is a drawing of a landscape that was colorized in Adobe Photoshop and then a glitch was crafted on top of the file using data bending software.
